I think if you have something like Sonny from I, Robot, then sure! Sonny is a sentient being that has hopes and dreams and thoughts. In terms of Generative AI and LLMs, though? I don’t think so.
Today, with the new Google Nanobanana bullshit, its become clear that all these genAI products, with billions and billions of dollars of more investment, are able to create images/words/etc… that are indistinguishable from reality. In that way… yeah, I think it can embody, or at least mimic, learned skill.
Though I think ‘kung fu’ and art, as we understand it, require a lived in human experience and or thought process. AI compiles all these data points contributed by human art, and certainly presents like art— but ultimately, will always lack an actual human touch.
